El lago Titicaca, Copacabana, Isla del Sol....rien que le noms de ces endroits magiques font rever...non?!
Copacabana est le village principal pour admirer le lac Titicaca du cote Bolivien, l´ambiance est tres sympa, un peu hippie, un peu touristique, un peu rural...c´est sympa, calme et agreable...
Nous nous sommes gates avec une jolie chambre avec vue sur le lac, SDB privee et meme la TV, un bien grand luxe depuis le debut de notre aventure!! Tres appreciable soit dit en passant!!
Apres unechouette ballade dans Copacabana, nous avons reserve nos tickets pour se rendre a l´íle du soleil des le lendemain!
Donc depart a 8.30 pour l´Isla del Sol, 1h30 de navigation sur le somptueux Lac Titicaca.... petite parenthese culturelle .... A l'époque des Incas, l'île était un sanctuaire et selon les habitants l´Ile serait le lieu de naissance du roi du Soleil ( dans la civilisation Inca)
La plus grande partie de l'île est peuplée d'indiens d'origine Quechua et a Aymara, lesquels s'occupent d'artisanat et d'élevage. On y parle les langues ancestrales, mais aussi l´espagnol.
Un peu partout sur l' Isla del Sol se trouvent des sites archéologiques. Parmi eux, la "Roca Sagrada" (Roche Sacrée), la Chinkana ou labyrinthe, ainsi que le Palacio de Pilkokaina (palais de Pilkokaina), tous deux datant de l'époque inca.
La decouverte de cette ile fut un reel plaisir, hormis les ruines Incas a admirer et la fameuse rando de 12kms du Nord au Sud de l´ile, j´ai apprecie le cote traditionnel et authentique de cette ile ou les habitants semblent vivre comme les Incas (!)....
Tres tres paisible, pas de voitures, tout ce que l on peut entendre sont des bruits d´animaux...des moutons, des cochons, des vaches, des lamas, des anes...un vrai concerto!
Nous avons passe une nuit dans le sud de l´ile, encore une fois, dans une bien jolie chambre avec vue imprenable sur le Lac, par contre, la nuit tombee, nous avons eu tres tres froid...
Pour se rechauffer...nous avons donc achete une fois de plus notre favori vino tinto de Bolivia!! hummmm!

Copacabana is the main place to visit the Lake Titikaka and the surrondings...
The village itself is a very pleasant place with a low key atmosphere, a tiny bit touristy but still, I think there´s a bit of everything for everybody in this place!!
After a great walk in Copa, we booked our boat tickets for the next day to visit Isla del Sol....
Isla del Sol is an island in the southern part of Lake Titicaca, geographically, the terrain is harsh; it is a rocky, hilly island. There are no motor vehicles or paved roads on the island.
The main economic activity of the approximately 800 families on the island is farming, with fishing and tourism augmenting the subsistence economy. There are over 180 ruins on the island. Most of these date to the Inca period circa the 15h century AD. Archaeologists have discovered people living on the island as far back as the third millennium BCE. Many hills on the island contain agricultural terraces, which adapt steep and rocky terrain to agriculture. Among the ruins on the island the Sacred Rock, a labyrinth-like building called Chicana, Kasa Pata, and Pilco Kaima. In the religion of the Incas, it was believed that the Sun God was born here.
We visited the ruins and trekked the 12kms from the North to the South of the Island, incredible landscapes...we stayed a night in the South of the island, we got a lovely room with great view on the lake but god, the night was freezing...then...one more time, we had to get a bottle of wine!
